We are getting married!
After exactly five years we’ve have decided to say ‘I do’ on:
23rd May 2026
Every love story has its trials, and ours has been no different.
We met during a pandemic that had left the world quiet and uncertain and what began as two people seeking companionship soon became something much greater: love, laughter, and a partnership strong enough to weather life’s storms.
That journey also meant learning to grow as a family. With James and Will at the heart of Michelle’s world, building those relationships became part of our story too.
Over time, a deep bond has blossomed between Justin and James – one filled with joy, pride, and affection – while with Will, though his path has taken him beyond the family home, there is respect, warmth, and the knowledge that our meeting had brought well deserved happiness, love and companionship to his mum, when it was most needed.
The challenges that life has given us have bonded us, and what we’ve built is a love which is steadfast, resilient and true.
It feels only right and fitting that we should begin our marriage at Danby Castle – a place where history has already been written.
Once the home of Catherine Parr, a queen whose strength and wisdom helped shape the course of a kingdom, it now becomes the backdrop for our own story. Here, surrounded by those we love most, we will begin our next chapter, proving that strength and resilience under pressure are the rock upon which enduring commitment is built.
And of course, we would love you to be there to help us celebrate our wedding.
That’s why we are sharing this resource with you – so you can explore the accommodation nearby and plan ahead for what we hope will be a joyful and unforgettable weekend together.
Where history rests, our future begins.
1:00pm, Ceremony in the Gardens
(weather permitting)
Your day with us begins in the gardens of Danby Castle, where ancient stone walls open onto sweeping views of the North York Moors. Weather permitting, it’s here, beneath the sky, that we’ll exchange our vows.
Catherine Parr once walked these grounds; on this day, we’ll follow in her footsteps as history bears witness to our own beginning.
Wedding Dinner
in the Castle Barn
After the ceremony, we’ll gather within the Castle Barn itself – its thick stone walls and oak beams cradling centuries of stories. Here, in this warm and intimate setting, we’ll share our first meal as husband and wife.
Expect laughter, toasts, and the kind of memories that stay with you long after the last plate is cleared.
Evening in
the New Hall
As twilight falls, the doors will open to the New Hall. With live music from The Redwings, the dance floor will spark to life.
Glasses will be raised, shoes will be kicked off, and the night will carry us forward – joyfully, noisily, beautifully – into our future together.
